DOCOsoft’s strategic role in Blueprint Two and the Writeback transition

As the London Market navigates the transformative phases of Blueprint Two, DOCOsoft is engaging proactively with Velonetic to uphold our customers best interests, particularly around a rebuild of the Writeback system. Although the official narrative suggested that Phase 1 would involve minimal changes, the ground-level reality is far more dynamic. This entails substantial systems redevelopment, including a new Messaging Gateway, with a new provider behind it, and complete rebuilds of Writeback and the Document Repository Interface (DRI).

Guidance and collaboration

DOCOsoft has helped guide Velonetic through the Writeback system rebuild. The expert insights we’ve provided, not least through our Writeback Deep Dive Sessions, have made an important contribution to ensuring the rebuild meets industry expectations and maintains continuity. Our proactive engagement and collaboration with Velonetic reflect the crucial importance we attach to securing a seamless transition and ensuring that all functionalities remain aligned with the market’s established needs.

Proactive testing

Informed by our deep practical understanding of the complexities involved in such a significant overhaul, we’ve been quietly focused on doing everything we can to make the transition as smooth as possible – for carriers, for technology vendors, and for Velonetic itself. We’ve developed more than 350 test cases to validate Writeback’s implementation. I believe this rigorous approach sets a benchmark for industry preparedness. In an ideal world, initiatives like Vendor Vanguard would have enabled independent testing by vendors to bolster confidence across the market. In the absence of such opportunities, DOCOsoft has taken the lead and done what we believe is necessary to mitigate potential disruption for our customers during rollout.

First-mover advantage

DOCOsoft was the first vendor to connect successfully to ACORD’s new ASG messaging gateway. This early connection enables us to identify and address any issues firsthand, ensuring that our customers face fewer challenges. As well as achieving outbound connectivity, we have also successfully accessed the SFTP site, which will be crucial to managing Claim Workflow Triggers for our run-of customers.

Enhanced onboarding and connectivity

We have also created detailed onboarding and connectivity guides for our customers, equipping them with the knowledge and the tools they’ll need to navigate the new systems effectively. This is just one example of the proactive approach that’s earned us our reputation as an exceptionally supportive partner: exactly the kind of vendor you’d want on your side as our entire industry goes through a major transition.

Current challenges and the way ahead

Of course, plenty of challenges still lie ahead. For instance, we have successfully sent a DRI Search Request, but we have yet to complete inbound connectivity through the receipt of a DRI Search Response. We’ve been assured that this capability will be available soon. When it is, that will mark another important milestone in operationalising full connectivity to the new ASG Gateway.

DOCOsoft’s involvement in the rollout of Blueprint Two’s new Writeback system exemplifies our commitment to leading from the front. By actively engaging in the development process, rigorously testing, and preparing our customers with hands-on support and bespoke educational resources, we’re setting the stage for a successful digital transformation at Lloyd’s – one that promises to redefine the future of insurance claims management.
