DOCOsoft at the Bermuda Risk Summit 2025
The Bermuda Risk Summit (BRS 2025) brought together industry leaders, innovators and decision-makers earlier this month to discuss all aspects of the evolving (re)insurance landscape.
Held at the Hamilton Princess from 10-12 March, the event brought together more than 450 attendees from Bermuda, the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and as far afield as Japan. Among them were DOCOsoft’s Aidan O’Neill and Helen Souza, whose packed agendas saw them engaging with current and potential future clients, participating in conference sessions and other industry discussions, and cementing DOCOsoft’s growing role within Bermuda’s claims ecosystem.
A standout event for the industry
This year’s BRS covered a huge range of topics, from reinsurance market outlooks and regulatory updates to cyber risk, captives and disruptive technologies. A new addition, the Future Leaders Forum, opened the final day with panels focusing on essential skills, career pathways and professional development generally within the risk and insurance sectors. With plenty of opportunities for networking and to hear industry leaders share their expertise, the Forum stressed the vital importance of developing fresh talent – a theme that resonates strongly with DOCOsoft’s vision for claims innovation.
Aidan O’Neill speaks out on claims transformation
One of the Summit’s highlights was the panel discussion Breaking Barriers: How InsurTech is Revolutionising Risk Management. This saw DOCOsoft CEO Aidan O’Neill joining an impressive lineup of industry experts to explore how technology is transforming (re)insurance. Moderated by David Parker of the Bermuda Development Authority (BDA), the panel also included Mark Bennett (ACORD), Duncan Card (Appleby) and Jim Cristallo (Meanwhile). Together, they examined the latest advances in InsurTech, overcoming the challenge of integrating new technology into traditional models, and why Bermuda is uniquely well placed to become a hub for InsurTech growth.

Roundtable brings key claims leaders together
DOCOsoft also hosted an exclusive Claims Roundtable on 10 March, bringing together Heads of Claims from leading Bermuda (re)insurers. This session, held under Chatham House rules, fostered open and candid discussions on key challenges in Bermuda’s claims landscape. Topics ranged from the role of technology in improving claims efficiency to attracting and retaining top talent into Bermuda’s claims community.
One key takeaway from the Roundtable was the growing recognition that cross-market collaboration and sustained engagement will be key to ongoing efforts to leverage the power of new technology to drive the market forward.

In the course of the Summit, Aidan and Helen met many existing and prospective clients, taking the opportunity to discuss how DOCOsoft’s claims solutions can help Bermuda’s (re)insurers overcome key operational challenges.
