Spring 2015

A message from our CEO
Thanks for taking the time out to read the first issue of our newsletter. We aim to bring you the latest developments at DOCOsoft as well as insights across the claims and document handling environment, providing news, comments and articles on topical insurance issues. In this edition you'll be able to read about the progress we are making with Write Back. As you may know, Write Back will allow the claims agreement party to operate entirely from within its own systems to review and respond to claims without direct recourse to the central systems provided by Xchanging. We believe that Write Back is one of the most important changes to the ECF process since electronic claims handling was introduced back with the original ECF1 system in the mid-2000s. Find out why by reading the article "Write Back is Coming" below. After a long period of illness we welcome back Graham Sheppard to DOCOsoft. Lastly, I would personally like to thank all who attended our annual end of year Christmas party held in the Old Tea Warehouse. Seems like a very long time ago now. Luckily, the extremely social nature of the party didn't get in the way of DOCOsoft's bid to become a member of ACORD, which was approved in January.
Write Back is coming
If you are in the claims community you cannot fail to have heard that Write Back is one of the most important changes to the ECF process since electronic claims handling was introduced back with the original ECF1 system in the mid-2000s. But why, and how does it really affect most of the market? Write Back will allow the claims agreement party to operate entirely from within their own systems to review

full claims management systems and Write Back will be fundamental towards improving your overall claims processing time considerably. It is also likely that the introduction of Write Back will be the catalyst for many others to consider improving their claims handling from pure claims workflow to full claims management.

In the wake of the Russia and Ukraine crisis, it is important to have in place a Claims Management System that can highlight policies where a sanctions check risk has been identified. Lloyd's has reviewed the sanctions issue on the back of fears that some of its members may have breached international sanctions through insurance and reinsurance contracts. In turn, pressure is being ramped up on exporters to pressurize them into not exposing their insurers to sanctions risks.

Onwards and Upwards
As mentioned above DOCOsoft have recently become a member of ACORD global insurance standards. ACORD standards means faster, more efficient workflows, more accurate data exchange internally and externally and early access to the latest advances in technology and tools. In other news, DOCOsoft renewed its sponsorship of the London Market Claims Council for another year, in January 2015. Meanwhile, DOCOsoft has moved to a much bigger office space in Dublin to cater for the company's growth, reflecting the fact that we have almost trebled our number of employees in the last couple of years. We'd like to thank all our clients for making this possible and look forward to welcoming them to our new premises very soon.
